A black screen means that you do not have the correct romset for your emulator of choice. If you do not pair the emulator with the romset, the roms will not launch. If you are saying you have the correct romset and the correct emulator but still get the black screen, you do not actually have the correct romset and emulator.

It's not wierd. Downloading single roms is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. How do you know which version you are downloading? If it was not a 0.78 rom, like the one you grabbed, it will not work.

I just moved out all the NeoGeo games from the Fba folder and put them in neogeo. Then using fba to run them.
So when doing that the *.fs and *.nv files wind up in the correct folder specified in the Retroarch.cfg file for neogeo.

Any insight @barbudreadmon on what could be the problem?

I've just got everything working again from a fresh RetroPie 4 image. I've no idea why the fba games didn't run before but all I did differently this time was not copy the contents of my fba config file as mentioned above. That probably was the cause.

@meleu I got you, that's exactly what I ended up doing. Thanks again for the assistance with that. Sorry I've had a long day and my communication skills are at a minimum right now which is what my wife has recently told me. ;-) Thanks again.

There is no way to tell from a single file in my experience, you are in trial and error mode. It's best to locate and download a full set from one of the many sources out there on the web and start from there. A full set could be anywhere from 2GB to 50GB depending on the version. Best get a 0.78 set to begin with as that will work with lr-mame-2003

This emulator works perfectly for the PiZero but I couldn't sort out the controller settings until I found this old thread.This worked perfectly after using the update note from Polezi, thank you and huge thank you to Meleu!

@ultranano has this been fixed? I also have a DragonRise Joystick and up and down is inverted. I cannot switch the up down wires without desoldering the connector. It's just a hassle...

Is there another way to invert the axis?
I read somewhere changing from JA_LR_1=0 to JA_LR_1=-0 but this didn't work.
